Report: Faber returning for hometown fight vs. Ricky Simon at UFC Sacramento
Urijah Faber will reportedly end his retirement and have his comeback fight in front of a hometown crowd on July 13.
"The California Kid" is scheduled to clash with Ricky Simon at UFC on ESPN+ 13 in Sacramento, Calif., according to Mike Bohn and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
Faber (34-10) retired from mixed martial arts in late 2016 after a unanimous-decision victory over Brad Pickett. The now-40-year-old had previously suffered back-to-back losses against Jimmie Rivera and Dominick Cruz.
Simon (15-1) has won three straight fights in the Octagon, most recently defeating Rani Yahya by decision at UFC 237 in February. The 26-year-old trains at Gracie Barra Portland with Chael Sonnen and Paige VanZant.
While the UFC hasn't announced the matchup, it's possible the fight will headline the Sacramento event. Here's an updated look at the card:
