Nunes takes out Holm with head kick in 1st round
UFC two-division champion Amanda Nunes successfully defended her bantamweight title Saturday, beating Holly Holm via first-round TKO in the co-main event of UFC 239 in Las Vegas.
Nunes dispatched the former champion with an epic head kick before sealing the win with her opponent stunned on the mat.



With the win, Nunes added Holm to her impressive resume, which includes knockout victories over all-time greats like Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, and Miesha Tate.

"I told my coaches I wanted to knock her out the same way she knocks people out," Nunes said after the bout. "I did it tonight. She was the only former champion I didn't beat yet. Now, I beat her and I'm very happy."
Nunes - who also holds the featherweight title thanks to her win over Cyborg - is widely considered to be the greatest female UFC fighter ever. She now has wins over every woman who has held the UFC women's bantamweight title, according to Ben Fowlkes of The Athletic.
