Masvidal KOs Askren with flying knee in 5 seconds at UFC 239
The people's main event didn't disappoint.
Jorge Masvidal took out fellow welterweight contender Ben Askren in unbelievable fashion Saturday, using a flying knee to score the fastest knockout in UFC history at UFC 239 in Las Vegas.

Masvidal connected with Askren's head as the wrestler attempted a takedown to begin the fight, and the American appeared to be unconscious as Masvidal went in to finish with ground-and-pound.

It was the first loss of Askren's career, dropping him to 19-1 (1 NC).
The two fighters had been feuding in the run-up to the bout, with neither hiding their contempt for the other. Asked why he immediately went for a flying knee after the fight, Masvidal didn't hide his lack of respect for his opponent.
"Because he's a bum," he answered.
Askren was taken to the hospital after the fight, the UFC said, according to ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
