Conor McGregor pleaded guilty to an assault charge for an incident at a bar in Dublin, Ireland in April, The Journal reported Friday.

The 31-year-old was convicted and fined $1,117 for the incident, though he did not receive jail time.

McGregor was charged with assault in October and was present in Criminal Courts of Justice building on Friday.

"What I did was very wrong and I'd like to apologize again to the injured party and today before the court and assure you that nothing of this nature will happen again," McGregor said.

The victim, Desmond Keogh, was not present in court on Friday, but the judge was told he had accepted an apology and didn't wish to make a victim impact statement.

McGregor has dealt with multiple legal problems this year. He was arrested for allegedly smashing a man's cellphone in March and was reportedly under investigation after a woman said he sexually assaulted her in December.

The former two-division UFC champion last competed in October 2018 when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229.
