Report: Holm vs. Pennington rematch set for UFC 246
Holly Holm will take on Raquel Pennington for a second time after all.
The former UFC women's bantamweight champion is set to meet Pennington at UFC 246 on Jan. 18 in Las Vegas, multiple sources told MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn.
Holm first defeated Pennington by split decision at UFC 184 in early 2015. It was Holm's Octagon debut. The rematch was originally scheduled for UFC 243 in October, but "The Preacher's Daughter" was forced out of the bout due to a hamstring injury.
Holm, who knocked out Ronda Rousey in 2015 to capture UFC gold, has alternated wins and losses in her past four outings. Most recently, she suffered a first-round knockout loss to current champ Amanda Nunes in July.
Pennington bounced back from a two-fight skid in her last bout, defeating Irene Aldana by split decision in July. "Rocky" holds a notable win over former 135-pound titleholder Miesha Tate.
UFC 246 will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Conor McGregor and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.
