Nate Diaz 'exploring legal action' after false report of arrest, police attack

UFC star Nate Diaz is exploring legal action after a story came out that falsely stated he was arrested and later attacked Miami cops at a police station, his rep, Zach Rosenfield, told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

"We demand an apology and have already have begun exploring legal action," Rosenfield said.

On Wednesday morning, the Miami Herald reported that Diaz was hospitalized after being arrested in a domestic violence case. The outlet reported that Diaz attacked officers at a station after his handcuffs were taken off.

The Miami Herald later retracted the story and apologized for "incorrectly" reporting Diaz's arrest.

MMA fighter Michael Albert Nates, 31, was actually the person arrested, according to the Miami Herald.

Diaz, one of the most popular fighters in the UFC, last competed in the Octagon at UFC 244 in November. He lost to Jorge Masvidal in a welterweight bout for the BMF title.
