McGregor to send €1M worth of protective equipment to hospitals in Ireland

Conor McGregor announced Wednesday that he's purchasing €1 million worth of personal protective equipment for "all the fighting hospitals" in the Leinster province of Ireland.

"Where we would be without these brave men and women (who work in hospitals), I do not know," McGregor told Irish politician Paschal Donohoe via direct messages that he posted on Twitter. "May God bless over them and keep them safe!"

In a video released Tuesday by McGregor's website The Mac Life, "The Notorious" urged leaders in Ireland to issue a country-wide lockdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As of Wednesday, there are more than 1,300 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and seven deaths related to the virus.

"We need more units on the street to enforce this lockdown, Paschal. It has been too lax!" McGregor wrote to Donohoe. "I seen yesterday, though, that this has been given more of a push. I was happy to hear and I am eager to see it in effect.

"I feel like we are moving in the right way, it just feels to me like it is not all the way," he continued. "I urge all the way! 'All-in' is the term we must use here. Bit by bit will cost us lives. To see what is happening here in Ireland and all across the entire globe is heartbreaking to me."
