Conor McGregor wants a piece of Justin Gaethje.
"The Notorious" attacked the UFC interim lightweight champion in an expletive-filled Twitter rant Monday, two days after Gaethje beat Tony Ferguson via fifth-round TKO in the UFC 249 main event.
"Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know," McGregor wrote, referring to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. "Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to fucking butcher you. Your teeth. I'm going to put them on a fucking necklace. ... You are fucking dead."
Though Gaethje is expected to meet Nurmagomedov in a title unification bout later this year, McGregor guaranteed that he'll fight "The Highlight" next.
"It's me and Justin next, as Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game," McGregor wrote.
McGregor then fired even more shots at Nurmagomedov, who was scheduled to fight Ferguson on April 18 but withdrew due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Khabib you absolute embarrassment," McGregor wrote. "Scurrying, hiding rat as usual. As I have said many times. As has been seen many times. ... An embarrassment to real fighting."
In October 2018, Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor in the biggest fight in UFC history. UFC president Dana White has talked about possibly booking a rematch.
McGregor, a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, returned to the Octagon this past January and defeated Donald Cerrone with a 40-second TKO in the UFC 246 main event.
