Khabib Nurmagomedov's father, Abdulmanap, has been put in a medically induced coma, Khabib's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, confirmed to ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
"I can confirm Khabib's father is in a medically induced coma. Khabib has been in contact with (Russian president) Vladimir Putin over the last several days, and he has promised Khabib's father will receive the best medical treatment available," Abdelaziz said.
Khabib said Monday that his father's heart complications are due to the coronavirus.
"Khabib's No. 1 message to people around the world right now is to stay at home, to prevent the spread of coronavirus," Abdelaziz said.
UFC president Dana White shared the news that Khabib's father was in a coma last Wednesday, although he reportedly woke up a day later. However, he remained in a Russian hospital.
