Report: Vettori, Roberson rebooked for June 13 after hotel altercation
Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson will settle their business next month.
The middleweights are set to meet at a UFC event on June 13, sources told MMA Fighting's Steven Marrocco and Damon Martin on Wednesday. A location for the card has not yet been determined.
Roberson and Vettori were scheduled to clash May 13 in Jacksonville, but Roberson was pulled from the event on fight day after falling ill due to his weight cut. He missed weight by 1.5 pounds the previous morning.
After the fight was canceled, the two fighters nearly came to blows at the hotel. The altercation was caught on camera. Vettori had to be held back by UFC security.
This is now the third time Vettori and Roberson have been scheduled to face off. The first was on April 25, but that event was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Vettori hinted that the fight had been rescheduled earlier Wednesday on social media.
The Italian fighter has won two straight bouts against Andrew Sanchez and Cezar Ferreira.
Roberson is also riding a two-fight winning streak. The 29-year-old most recently submitted Roman Kopylov at UFC Moscow in November.
