UFC's June events reportedly include O'Malley's return, Emmett-Burgos
The UFC's schedule for May and June continues to take shape.
Rising bantamweight star Sean O'Malley is set to return to the Octagon at UFC 250 on June 6 against veteran Eddie Wineland, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
Also slated for that card is a welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin, sources told MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn and Farah Hannoun.
Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos are targeted to collide in a pivotal featherweight bout on June 20, according to Hannoun, while sources told Bohn a women's bantamweight fight between former title challenger Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau is also in the works for that event.
Several bouts are in the works for the UFC event on May 30, sources told MMA Fighting's Mike Heck. Those tilts reportedly include a bantamweight fight between Casey Kenney and Louis Smolka, a clash between Chris Gutierrez and Vince Morales at 135 pounds, and a flyweight matchup pitting Tim Elliott against Brandon Royval.
Former women's flyweight title challenger Katlyn Chookagian and Antonina Shevchenko will also face off on May 30, sources told Bohn. Antonina is the sister of current champion Valentina Shevchenko, who beat Chookaiongian at UFC 247 in February. Additionally, Roosevelt Roberts will meet Brok Weaver in a lightweight contest, sources told Hannoun.
A bantamweight bout between Jordan Espinosa and Mark De La Rosa is targeted for June 13, reports Heck, and sources told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz that a women's flyweight fight between Ariane Lipski and Luana Carolina is also in the works for that card.
Locations have not been finalized for any of the reported events. The May 30 and June 6 shows are expected to take place at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas pending approval from the Nevada Athletic Commission.
A fight between former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns is expected to serve as the May 30 main event, while Amanda Nunes is slated to defend her women's featherweight title against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250.
