MMA veteran Frankie Edgar will drop down in weight to meet Pedro Munhoz in a bantamweight bout on the UFC's July 11 card, sources told Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com.
Edgar, a former UFC lightweight champion, lost to Max Holloway last July in a featherweight title fight. He also lost to Chan Sung Jung via first-round TKO in December.
He'll now look to take on the No. 7-ranked bantamweight in the promotion.
Munhoz was riding a three-fight win streak before dropping a unanimous decision to Aljamain Sterling in June.
Munhoz owns an 18-4 career record, with nine wins coming by submission. Edgar is 23-8 in his career and has never been submitted.
