Blaydes-Volkov rebooked as headliner for June 20 event
Top UFC heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov will fight in the headliner of the June 20 card, the promotion announced Wednesday.
The two fighters were originally scheduled to face off on the same date in the main event of UFC Saskatoon, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The June 20 card's location has yet to be announced, though the UFC has said it expects to hold all events at its Apex facility in Las Vegas moving forward.
Blaydes is riding a three-fight win streak that includes knockouts of former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
Meanwhile, Volkov has won five of his six UFC fights. The 29-year-old's most notable victories have come over ex-champion Fabricio Werdum and former NFLer Greg Hardy.
