Rising bantamweight Sean O'Malley knocked out Eddie Wineland at 1:54 of the first round in their bout at UFC 250 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The finish came as O'Malley feinted an uppercut and quickly followed up with a brutal straight right that put Wineland out cold. No ground-and-pound was needed, as referee Herb Dean immediately stepped in. Afterward, color commentator Joe Rogan called it one of the best walk-off knockouts he's ever seen.
With the victory, O'Malley's second of 2020, "Sugar" is now 4-0 in the UFC. He's considered one of the hottest prospects at 135 pounds and appears due for a step up in competition in his next outing.
Wineland, a veteran who's competed in the Octagon since 2011, is 1-3 in his past four contests.
