Report: Volkanovski-Holloway rematch being targeted for UFC 251

The UFC is targeting a featherweight championship rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway at UFC 251 on July 11, ESPN's Ariel Helwani reports.

The promotion is also looking at booking Petr Yan versus Jose Aldo for the bantamweight belt and a welterweight title bout featuring champion Kamaru Usman, Helwani adds.

Volkanovski defeated Holloway on Dec. 14 by unanimous decision to capture the title and improve his record to 21-1. He underwent left-hand surgery after the win.

He owns an 18-fight winning streak and hasn't lost since 2013 while in the Australian Fighting Championship.

Holloway dropped to 21-5 with the loss, his second in his last three fights. He also dropped an interim lightweight title bout against Dustin Poirier in April 2019. He had previously won 13 straight.
