Borg out of UFC Fight Night due to personal issues
Ray Borg has withdrawn from his bantamweight fight against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo in Las Vegas due to personal issues, the promotion announced Thursday.
Dvalishvili will instead fight newcomer Gustavo Lopez at a 140-pound catchweight.
Borg was looking to bounce back from a split-decision loss to Ricky Simon in May. The former flyweight title challenger, who moved up to the 135-pound division in 2019, is 2-2 in his past four contests.
Dvalishvili is a rising prospect in the weight class, as he's notched wins in his past three fights. The 29-year-old is coming off a dominant victory over Casey Kenney in February.
Lopez enters the UFC as the Combate Americas bantamweight champion. He won the belt in March 2019 and defended it last summer. The 30-year-old is riding a three-fight winning streak and holds an 11-4 professional record.
