A heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai is targeted to headline UFC Fight Night on Sept. 5, sources told ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
Overeem is coming off a second-round TKO win over Walt Harris in the May 16 main event in Jacksonville. The former title challenger is 3-1 in his past four bouts.
Sakai, a rising prospect in the division who's 4-0 in the Octagon, has won six straight fights. Most recently, the 29-year-old earned a split-decision victory over Blagoy Ivanov.
A location has not yet been determined for the event. The UFC is scheduled to hold three more events in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, through the end of July, then is expected to return to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for five shows in August.
