Ex-UFC champ Holm rebooked vs. Aldana for Oct. 3 main event
The women's bantamweight fight between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana has been rescheduled for the main event of UFC Fight Night on Oct. 3, the promotion announced Saturday.
Holm-Aldana was originally slated to headline the Aug. 1 event, but the latter was forced to withdraw from the contest after testing positive for COVID-19.
Holm, a former UFC champion, is coming off a victory over Raquel Pennington at UFC 246 in January. "The Preacher's Daughter" has alternated wins and losses over her past six bouts and will look to end that streak in October.
Aldana is riding a two-fight winning streak, most recently knocking out top contender Ketlen Vieira in the first round at UFC 245 last December. The 32-year-old is 5-1 over her last six fights, which includes a victory over former title challenger Bethe Correia.
A location for the Oct. 3 event hasn't been announced. The card will reportedly also feature a lightweight bout between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush, and a women's 135-pound clash between former featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie and Julianna Pena.
