Covington-Woodley official for UFC main event on Sept. 19
Colby Covington will meet Tyron Woodley in the welterweight main event of UFC Fight Night on Sept. 19, the promotion announced Saturday.
A location for the card hasn't been announced.
Covington hasn't stepped into the Octagon since a fifth-round TKO loss to 170-pound champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 last December. That defeat snapped the former interim titleholder's seven-fight win streak, which included decisions over former UFC champions Rafael dos Anjos and Robbie Lawler.
Woodley, a former welterweight champion, has lost two straight bouts. Most recently, "The Chosen One" fell short to Gilbert Burns via a lopsided decision in the promotion's main event on May 30. Woodley lost the belt to Usman in March 2019 and hasn't picked up a victory since submitting Darren Till in his fourth title defense in September 2018.
