Report: Ex-champ Andrade meets Chookagian in flyweight debut on Oct. 17
Former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade will make her women's flyweight debut against Katlyn Chookagian at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 17, sources told MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz.
Andrade is coming off a loss to fellow ex-titleholder Rose Namajunas at UFC 251 in July. The Brazilian knocked out Namajunas to win the belt in 2019 but then dropped it in her first title defense against Zhang Weili.
Andrade is reportedly not ruling out a return to 115 pounds after this bout. She has also previously competed at bantamweight.
Chookagian most recently dominated Antonina Shevchenko at a UFC Fight Night event in May. She successfully rebounded from a TKO loss to her last opponent's sister, women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, at UFC 247 in February. Chookagian is 3-1 in her past four contests.
UFC Fight Night will be headlined by a featherweight bout between Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung.
