Pereira trained with cows, horses ahead of UFC Fight Night
Michel Pereira took an unorthodox approach to his latest fight camp.
The welterweight prospect said Thursday he trained with farm animals in preparation for his bout against Zelim Imadaev, which takes place at Saturday's UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
"I train new things every time," Pereira said, according to MMA Fighting. "I try to get to know different strategies and different games. For this event in particular, I trained at a farm with animals. So I was running around with animals. I always try to train in different places and get to know different things, so every time I step in the Octagon, I can bring something new and put on a show."
Pereira added he practiced his takedowns with cows and his running ability with horses.
"I trained with cows and working on taking them down and running with horses," he said. "I had different experiences with different animals and just tried to work on different strategies."
Pereira is one of the flashiest fighters on the UFC roster. In his debut last year, he knocked out Danny Roberts after attempting multiple kicks off the fence, a Superman punch, and a rolling thunder.
However, the Brazilian has lost two straight bouts since then, and he'll be looking to improve his promotional record to 2-2 this weekend.
