Report: Couture injured in ATV accident, will undergo surgery
Former UFC champion Randy Couture was injured in a motor accident Monday in Arizona and will undergo surgery Tuesday afternoon, according to TMZ Sports.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
The 57-year-old Hall of Famer was reportedly riding an ATV on a private road on his Flagstaff property when he lost control of the vehicle. Couture's wife, Mindy Robinson, was apparently a passenger on the ATV.
Couture was treated at a local hospital for shoulder and rib injuries, while Robinson sustained only minor injuries, according to TMZ Sports. The couple reportedly went home before going to the hospital.
Couture, who retired from MMA in 2011 and now serves as a commentator for the PFL, held UFC titles at heavyweight and light heavyweight. He was the first fighter to become a UFC champion in two divisions.
