Souza-Holland added to UFC 256
A middleweight bout between Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Kevin Holland is set for UFC 256 on Dec. 12, the promotion announced Saturday.
Souza was originally scheduled to face Marvin Vettori on the card. Vettori replaced Holland, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, in the Dec. 5 main event against Jack Hermansson.
Souza, 40, is coming off a loss to current light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz at 205 pounds. The bout against Holland will mark his first fight at middleweight since April 2019, when he suffered a decision defeat to Hermansson. Once a top 185-pound contender, Souza last won in 2018 with a knockout of Chris Weidman.
Holland is one of two UFC fighters to go 4-0 in 2020. The 28-year-old is coming off a finish of Charlie Ontiveros in October. He also holds a stoppage win over Joaquin Buckley, who recently scored a viral knockout.
A flyweight title clash between champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will headline UFC 256 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
