A pivotal heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane is in the works for UFC Fight Night on March 13, sources told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin and Mike Heck.
Both fighters reportedly verbally agreed to the matchup, but contracts have not yet been signed.
Rozenstruik is coming off a knockout victory over former champion Junior dos Santos last August. The 32-year-old returned to the win column after suffering the first defeat of his professional career to Francis Ngannou earlier in 2020. Rozenstruik owns a 5-1 record in the Octagon.
Gane also defeated Dos Santos in his last bout, stopping the Brazilian with strikes in the second round last December. The 30-year-old is one of the fastest-rising contenders in the heavyweight division and is undefeated as a pro.
A welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev will headline the March 13 event. A location has not yet been announced.
