Report: Figueiredo-Moreno 2 set for June 12
UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will defend his belt in a rematch with Brandon Moreno on June 12, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
A location for the event, which is expected to be UFC 263, isn't set yet.
Figueiredo retained his 125-pound crown with a majority draw against Moreno (48-46, 47-47, 47-47) in December, with the two fighters putting together a Fight of the Year candidate.
The matchup's result was only the fourth draw in UFC championship history.
After the fight, UFC president Dana White said he intended to give Figueiredo (20-1-1) and Moreno (18-5-2) some time off since both took the bout on short notice but that the rematch "absolutely" was the next move.
The champion submitted Alex Perez in his first title defense three weeks before taking on Moreno while "The Assassin Baby" picked up a TKO win over Brandon Royval, making it the quickest turnaround ever for a UFC title fight.
Figueiredo, widely regarded as 2020's Fighter of the Year, beat Joseph Benavidez in July to earn the strap. The Brazilian finished the year with a 3-0-1 record.
