Jones mocks Adesanya, says superfight 'off the table'
Jon Jones appeared to relish Israel Adesanya losing his first professional fight.
The former light heavyweight champion took to Twitter after Saturday's UFC 259 main event and laid into middleweight champ Adesanya, who suffered a decision loss to Jan Blachowicz in the light heavyweight title fight.
Seems like everyone worried about me can’t get past what’s in front of them. Weird

There's been talk over the past six months of a potential superfight between Jones and Adesanya. The two have also verbally sparred on social media. Although Jones is moving up to heavyweight to challenge the winner of Stipe Miocic versus Francis Ngannou, Adesanya winning the light heavyweight belt would've been the next step in making the fight between himself and Jones a reality.
But with "The Last Stylebender" coming up short in his bid to become a two-division titleholder, Jones believes the pairing is no longer an option.
"I'm imagining that 'superfight' is off the table," Jones wrote on Instagram. "No more distractions."
Adesanya said after the loss to Blachowicz that he plans to defend his middleweight title in his next bout but will return to 205 pounds in the future.
