UFC 259 generated 600,000 pay-per-view buys in the United States and an additional 200,000 purchases internationally, according to Sports Business Journal's John Ourand.

In last weekend's main event, Jan Blachowicz defeated Israel Adesanya to retain the light heavyweight title. The card, which took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, featured two other championship fights with Amanda Nunes' latest featherweight defense against Megan Anderson and Aljamain Sterling's unprecedented title win over Petr Yan.

This appears to be a strong number, as Blachowicz isn't a proven pay-per-view draw, and Adesanya is still relatively new to that market, having headlined just three paid events in the past. None of the fighters who competed in the other title bouts are proven draws.

The highest-selling pay-per-view of 2021 is UFC 257, which featured Conor McGregor's return against Dustin Poirier and reportedly drew 1.6 million buys.
