Garbrandt-Font to headline May 22 UFC card

A pair of top-five bantamweights will headline a UFC event this spring.

No. 3-ranked Rob Font and No. 4-ranked Cody Garbrandt will meet in the Octagon on May 22, the promotion announced.

A victory could catapult either fighter into the title picture. Garbrandt, 12-3, returned from a 15-month absence last year and knocked out Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250 in June. He's looking to start a winning streak after suffering three consecutive losses between 2017 and 2019.

Font, 18-4, has won his last three bouts, including decision victories over Sergio Pettis and Ricky Simon and a TKO of Marlon Moraes in December.
