Report: Poirier, McGregor officially agree to trilogy bout
Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor are set to complete their trilogy in the UFC 264 main event on July 10, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
Poirier signed his contract Friday, according to Helwani. McGregor has only verbally agreed to the fight, a source told MMA Junkie.
The bout will take place in the lightweight division, as their rematch did at UFC 257. Poirier stunned McGregor with a second-round TKO in January. Before that, McGregor knocked out Poirier in a featherweight contest in 2014.
Poirier extended his winning streak to two with the victory over McGregor. "The Diamond" is 6-1 in his past seven bouts.
McGregor dropped to 1-2 over his past three outings. The former two-division champion entered that fight coming off a 40-second win over Donald Cerrone in early 2020.
The UFC hasn't announced a location for the July pay-per-view card, but it's expected to be open to fans, sources told Helwani.
