VanZant to face Ostovich in July bare-knuckle fight
Paige VanZant's second bout in Bare Knuckle FC is set.
The former UFC star will face Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19 on July 23, the promotion announced Thursday.
VanZant and Ostovich met once before under the UFC banner in early 2019. The former won via second-round submission.
VanZant joined BKFC last summer after nearly six years in the UFC and more than eight years as a professional mixed martial artist. She made her debut in February and lost a unanimous decision to Britain Hart.
The 27-year-old VanZant parted ways with the UFC following a submission loss to Amanda Ribas last July in the final fight on her contract. Her most recent victory is the finish against Ostovich more than two years ago.
Ostovich was released by the UFC late in 2020 following her third straight loss, which came against Gina Mazany via third-round TKO. The 30-year-old compiled a 1-3 record in the promotion after making her debut in 2017. She inked a deal with BKFC in April.
BKFC hasn't announced a location for its July 23 event.
