Ladd's fight vs. Chiasson off after weigh-in struggles
UFC women's bantamweight contender Aspen Ladd won't compete this weekend following a rough trip to the weigh-in scale.
Ladd missed weight by one pound Friday morning in Las Vegas, and her fight against Macy Chiasson was scrapped, the promotion announced, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
The 26-year-old appeared to struggle to stay balanced on the scale during her lengthy weigh-in. She initially came in at 141.5 pounds, which is 5.5 pounds over the division's limit, before hitting 137 pounds without clothing on.

Ladd addressed the weight miss Friday afternoon in an Instagram post, noting she began her menstrual cycle earlier this week. She also said Chiasson declined the fight; in other words, the UFC did not pull Ladd after she missed weight.
This is Ladd's second time missing weight in her UFC career, coming in 1.8 pounds heavy for a scratched 2018 bout versus Leslie Smith. She was also visibly shaking during the weigh-in for her main-event bout against Germaine de Randamie in July 2019.
Ladd hasn't stepped into the Octagon since a win over Yana Kunitskaya in December 2019. She was originally scheduled to face Chiasson earlier in 2021, but the contest was canceled during fight week after Chiasson suffered an injury.
