Welterweights Stephen Thompson and Belal Muhammad will match up in UFC's final Fight Night card of 2021, pending finalization, sources told MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn, Nolan King, and John Morgan.

The three-round bout is set to take place Dec. 18 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Muhammad is currently riding a six-fight win streak, which includes a no-contest in his bout with Leon Edwards. The UFC's ninth-ranked welterweight has scored decision victories over Lyman Good, Dhiego Lima, and Demian Maia, the latter of which occurred at UFC 263 this past June.

Thompson, the fifth-ranked welterweight, is looking to return to the win column after losing by unanimous decision to Gilbert Burns at UFC 264 in July. Prior to the defeat, "Wonderboy" strung together consecutive wins over Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal.

UFC Fight Night 199 is slated to be headlined by a heavyweight contest between Derrick Lewis and Chris Daukaus.
