Report: Santos-Hill expected to headline Aug. 6 event
A top-10 showdown in the light heavyweight division between Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill is expected to headline a UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 6, sources told Nolan King and Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.
The five-round feature bout is expected to be the main event, with the location and venue to be announced at a later date.
Santos (22-10) is looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Magomed Ankalaev at a Fight Night event in March. The Brazilian is currently the No. 6-ranked contender in the 205-pound division. He has just one win in his last five fights, a span that includes losses to Glover Teixeira and Jon Jones.
Hill, the No. 10-ranked light heavyweight, aims to extend his two-fight win streak. The "Sweet Dreams" fighter (10-1) scored a highlight-reel first-round knockout win over Johnny Walker in February. His lone loss as a professional came via TKO to Paul Craig in 2021.
