Cormier was serving as a color commentator at UFC 274 in Phoenix when it was announced on the broadcast he would be inducted. He shared an emotional moment with fellow commentators Jon Anik and Joe Rogan from cageside.
"DC" is one of the all-time greatest MMA fighters in the heavier weight classes. He held the UFC championships at heavyweight and light heavyweight and was the second fighter to hold two titles simultaneously after Conor McGregor.
The 43-year-old retired from MMA in August 2020 following a loss to Stipe Miocic in a trilogy bout for the heavyweight belt.
