Michael Page, Mike Perry set for BKFC match in August
Bellator welterweight Michael "Venom" Page and former UFC fighter Mike Perry will meet in a bare-knuckle match in the BKFC 27 main event Aug. 20 in London, the promotion announced Thursday.
Page remains under contract with Bellator and is competing in BKFC as a one-off, according to MMA Junkie's Nolan King.
Perry debuted with BKFC earlier in 2022, defeating Julian Lane by unanimous decision. "Platinum" parted ways with the UFC last year following two straight losses. He had been on the UFC roster since 2016 and compiled a 7-8 record.
Page has competed twice in professional boxing and once in kickboxing, but never in bare-knuckle fighting. "Venom" is coming off a split-decision loss to Logan Storley in May in a fight that was for the Bellator interim welterweight title. That defeat snapped Page's six-fight winning streak. Eighteen of Page's 22 pro MMA bouts have taken place under the Bellator banner.
Page is the latest well-known MMA fighter to join the BKFC ranks, albeit only temporarily. The promotion has signed John Dodson, Jimmie Rivera, and Ben Rothwell, among others, in recent months.
