After losing his sixth consecutive fight, Tony Ferguson appears to want to keep fighting.

Ferguson, who suffered a submission defeat to Bobby Green at UFC 291 on Saturday in Salt Lake City, said Sunday he doesn't think the sport has passed him by.

However, he's going to talk to the UFC brass about his future.

"I know for a fact I have more to give," Ferguson wrote on Instagram. "Moving forward, I plan to work closely with (UFC president) Dana (White), (UFC chief business officer) Hunter (Campbell), and my entire team to assess what's next."

Green poked Ferguson in the eye in the first round of their 155-pound bout, halting the action momentarily. Ferguson said the eye poke had a serious effect on him.

"It significantly impaired my vision, making it difficult to see clearly out of my eye," Ferguson said. "Despite this eye poke, I never considered stopping the fight, although the doctor wanted to."

Ferguson used to be one of the best lightweights in the world. He won 12 in a row from 2013-19, which included an interim title victory. But the 39-year-old has since been finished in four of his last six fights.

"Unfortunately in sports, setbacks like this are part of the journey," Ferguson wrote.
