Mike Tyson to train Ngannou for fight with Fury
Francis Ngannou has one of the best heavyweights of all time helping him prepare for his upcoming bout with Tyson Fury.
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will train Ngannou for the Oct. 28 matchup with Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.
"It is no secret I back Ngannou 100% in this face-off of champions," Tyson said, according to Riyadh Season. "He has one hard punch, and when it lands, it's game over. I am looking forward to working with Ngannou and supporting his transition from the octagon to the boxing ring."
Ngannou and Fury will meet in a 10-round fight under standard boxing rules with three judges scoring at ringside.
"Bringing Mike Tyson into my training camp is one of the best decisions I can make to prepare for Tyson Fury in the ring at this year's Riyadh Season," Ngannou said. "Mike Tyson is an idol of mine in the sport. His experience and boxing IQ will be important to honing my technique under his guidance to win this super-fight."
The bout will be Ngannou's first professional boxing fight and his first action since defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in January 2022 to defend his heavyweight title.
Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) has been idle since defeating Derek Chisora via 10th-round TKO to retain his World Boxing Council heavyweight belt in December 2022.
