Cyborg-Zingano among 4 title fights set for Bellator 300
Bellator 300 will be headlined by an unprecedented number of championship bouts.
The landmark event is set to take place Oct. 7 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego and will feature four title fights, Bellator announced Wednesday. In the main event, heavyweight champion Ryan Bader will face Linton Vassell in a rematch. Cris Cyborg will defend the women's featherweight title against Cat Zingano in the co-main event.
Lightweight champ Usman Nurmagomedov will face off with Brent Primus in the Lightweight Grand Prix semifinals, while Liz Carmouche will defend the women's flyweight title against Ilima-Lei Macfarlane.
This is the first time in Bellator's 14-year history that an event will feature four title fights. The Bellator 300 main card will air on Showtime in the United States.
"We wanted to give the fans and supporters an epic night of fights, and there is no better way to do that than showcasing these four incredible champions all putting their belts on the line," Bellator president Scott Coker said in a press release.
"I can't wait for Bellator 300, which is going to be the biggest event in the history of Bellator MMA," he added.
The full preliminary card for Bellator 300 will be announced in the coming weeks.
