Garbrandt injured, out of UFC 292 bout
Another big-name fighter is off the UFC 292 main card.
An injury has forced former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt out of his clash against Mario Bautista on Aug. 19 in Boston, the UFC announced Saturday.
It's unclear whether the promotion will seek a replacement to face Bautista on short notice.
Garbrandt's withdrawal comes shortly after welterweight contender Geoff Neal pulled out of a main-card matchup against Ian Machado Garry due to a health issue. Garry will now take on Neil Magny. Former UFC two-division champ Henry Cejudo was also scheduled for the event but withdrew in late June.
Garbrandt, 32, was looking to improve to two straight victories after getting back on track at UFC 285 in March with a unanimous decision win over Trevin Jones.
Bautista, a red-hot bantamweight prospect, has won four in a row, three by submission. The 30-year-old American hasn't lost a UFC bout in over three years.
In the UFC 292 main event, Aljamain Sterling defends the bantamweight title against Sean O'Malley. Zhang Weili puts the strawweight throne on the line against Amanda Lemos in the co-headliner.
