White plans to 'get something figured out soon' with McGregor
UFC CEO Dana White expects to have news about Conor McGregor's fighting career in the near future.
Earlier this week, White said he and the former two-division champion have talked about McGregor's return fight and will finally decide what's next "soon."
"I talked to Conor today," White said during an Instagram Live session, according to MMA Fighting's Alexander K. Lee. "I'm in Abu Dhabi right now, Conor's in Dubai. We talked tonight. He and I will get something figured out soon. We're talking."
The update comes just a few days after McGregor ranted about his inactivity while attending a boxing event in Saudi Arabia. He blamed the UFC for keeping him sidelined and said his patience was "wearing thin."
McGregor, who hasn't stepped into the Octagon since breaking his leg in a July 2021 fight, has expressed interest in returning at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas. However, his coach John Kavanagh recently said the promotion was targeting his next fight for the summer.
The Irishman was expected to compete earlier this year after coaching "The Ultimate Fighter 31" opposite lightweight contender Michael Chandler, but the matchup wasn't finalized.
