Poirier: UFC 300 fight vs. Diaz 'ain't happening'
Those hoping to see a Dustin Poirier versus Nate Diaz bout finally materialize will apparently have to wait.
Poirier wrote Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he won't be fighting Diaz at UFC 300 on April 13.

In late December, the former interim lightweight champion expressed interest in welcoming Diaz back to the promotion after Diaz tweeted that a return at UFC 300 "would be tight."

Poirier and Diaz were scheduled to fight at UFC 230 in 2018, but the matchup was canceled after Poirier withdrew due to an injury.
Diaz, one of the biggest stars in MMA history, parted ways with the UFC in 2022 to test free agency. He fought YouTube star turned prizefighter Jake Paul in a boxing match last August but also said he was interested in returning to the UFC.
UFC 300 doesn't yet have an official main event or co-main event.
