Namajunas, Ribas to headline March 23 UFC event at flyweight

Former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is giving flyweight another shot.

Namajunas is set to face Amanda Ribas in the 125-pound main event of UFC Fight Night on March 23 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, the promotion announced Friday.

Namajunas made her flyweight debut at UFC Paris last September, losing to top contender Manon Fiorot by three-round unanimous decision. "Thug Rose," whose second strawweight title reign ended in a May 2022 rematch with Carla Esparza, will look to snap the first two-fight losing streak of her career.

Ribas has alternated between flyweight and strawweight throughout her UFC career. The Brazilian is coming off a third-round TKO victory over Luana Pinheiro at 115 pounds in November.
