Cannonier-Borralho to headline UFC Fight Night on Aug. 24
Top-15 middleweights Jared Cannonier and Caio Borralho will face off in the headliner for UFC Vegas 96 on Aug. 24, the promotion announced Tuesday.
Cannonier last fought on June 8 against Nassourdine Imavov, which finished in a controversial stoppage. Imamov won the bout by TKO when the ref called the fight as a wobbled Cannonier tried to swing back at Imavov near the fence.
Jason Herzog, the referee for the fight, received backlash online for ending the bout.
I get it. I know what I was seeing in the moment, but I've gotten enough feedback telling me I need to reevaluate, so I will. https://t.co/YwbIg9Mbdh

Other fights on the card include Edmen Shahbazyan versus Gerald Meerschaert (middleweight), Jose Medina versus Zachary Reese (middleweight), and Michael Morales versus Neil Magny (welterweight).
