Sterling-Evloev moved to UFC 310
A matchup between two top featherweight contenders is getting a new date.
The UFC announced Aljamain Sterling will now fight Movsar Evloev at UFC 310 on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The bout was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 307 on Oct. 5 in Salt Lake City, Utah, but it was removed from the card after Sterling sustained an injury during camp.
Sterling (24-4) announced earlier this month that he needed to pull out of the bout next month after exhausting all options. The former bantamweight champion pleaded with Evloev to remain patient and push back their fight.
Evloev (18-0) was adamant he'd fight any replacement given to him but withdrew from the card when a substitute wasn't found.
The announcement of a new date comes shortly after Sterling said he'd consider fighting Diego Lopes if the promotion didn't rebook a fight with Evloev.
The bout will mark Sterling's second at 145 pounds following his victory over Calvin Kattar at UFC 300 in April. Evloev has won eight straight fights since making his UFC debut in April 2019. His last appearance was a unanimous decision win over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in January.
