Magny-Prates to headline 100th Fight Night at UFC Apex
The 100th UFC Fight Night card to take place at the Apex has a main event.
Neil Magny and Carlos Prates will meet in a five-round welterweight bout Nov. 9 in Las Vegas, the promotion announced Friday.
Magny, ranked No. 15 in the division, is looking to get back on track after suffering a first-round TKO loss to Michael Morales in August. The 37-year-old is a longtime contender in the UFC, boasting the most fights (33) and wins (22) in division history.
Prates is one of the most promising up-and-comers at 170 pounds. The Brazilian became the first to knock out Li Jingliang with a devastating second-round finish at UFC 305 in August. Prates, 31, holds a 3-0 record in the UFC since debuting in February.
The Apex is the UFC's own live events and production center, which opened in 2019 and is six miles from the Las Vegas Strip. The promotion first began holding events there at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 but didn't stop using the Apex when the pandemic ended, with over 15 events taking place at the facility each year since.
Nov. 9 will mark the 107th UFC event at the Apex overall, with seven pay-per-views being held there between May 2020 and March 2021.
