Garbrandt injured, UFC co-main event canceled
The 100th UFC Fight Night card at the UFC Apex has lost its co-main event.
Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt was forced out of Saturday's matchup against Miles Johns in Las Vegas due to an undisclosed injury, UFC officials told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin on Wednesday.
Johns won't remain on the card, the promotion confirmed to MMA Junkie's Nolan King.
Garbrandt was looking to rebound from a submission loss to former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300 in April. The 33-year-old is 2-1 in his last three outings.
Johns is coming off a unanimous decision win over Douglas Silva de Andrade in June. The 30-year-old is riding a four-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2022.
A welterweight fight between the No. 15-ranked Neil Magny and rising contender Carlos Prates is scheduled to headline this weekend's event.
