Carlos Prates knocked out former welterweight champion Leon Edwards at the 1:28 mark of the second round at UFC 322 on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Prates landed a devastating left punch to give Edwards his first career knockout loss.
Edwards has now lost three in a row. The 34-year-old Englishman dropped the 170-pound title in a unanimous decision defeat to Belal Muhammad in July 2024, and then suffered his first-ever submission loss against Sean Brady at UFC London in March.
Prates, a 32-year-old from Brazil, is riding a two-fight winning streak and is 6-1 in the promotion overall.
