UFC lightweight Yancy Medeiros knocked out Yves Edwards at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3, but the victory will not stand as the Bahamian failed a drug test following the fight, MMA Junkie reported Tuesday.

“UFC lightweight Yancy Medeiros tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his bout against Yves Edwards at UFC Fight for the Troops 3,” the UFC's statement read. “He was informed that his positive test violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and Promotional Agreement with Zuffa, LLC.

"[Medeiros] agreed to and served a 90-day suspension retroactive to the event, and must pass a drug test before receiving clearance to compete again."

The 26-year-old Medeiros knocked out Edwards in the first round of the Nov. 6, 2013 event in what appeared to be his first UFC victory. Instead his record now reads 9-1 with one no contest.

Medeiros' was suspended immediately after the fight, and is cleared to fight Jake Ellenberger at UFC 172 in April.
