Emanuel Newton (23-7) dropped "interim" from his title of light heavyweight champion, earning a split decision over Attila Vegh (29-5) to unify the belts.
Vegh was able to use his larger frame — and the cage — to control Newton in the first round, but his penchant of avoiding the ground was mostly ineffective after that, as Newton outmatched his stand up by landing leg kicks throughout and power shots in the later rounds.
Inexplicably, Vegh's corner told him he was up 3-0 after three rounds.
With the win, Newton will have to wait for the winner of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal on May 17 for his first title defense.

Marcin Held (17-3) submitted Rodrigo Cavalheiro (14-3) at 1:56 in the first round. While "on a mission" to prove that he's not just a leg-lock specialist, the "Prodigy of Polish MMA" ended up trapping his larger opponent, first in a heel hook, then a toe hold to win the match.
"Held could be the most dangerous man on the ground — without question when it comes to legs," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney told Wrestling Observer. "His leg lock game is just terrifying. It's a frightening thing to watch, because as soon as he gets close, game over."
Derek Campos (14-3) took a unanimous decision over Tim Welch (10-5), with all three judges scoring the bout 30-27, after Campos dominated all three rounds while delivering a near-knockout in the second.
Derek Anderson (11-0) stayed unbeaten, knocking out Brandon Girtz (10-4) with a huge knee 23 seconds into the second round.
