Report: Overeem left Blackzilians after injuring teammate
In an interview with Blackzilians prospect Gilbert Burns for the Sexto Round Podcast, (via MMAFighting.com) the 27-year-old Brazilian said that UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem left the Boca Raton-based fight team after injuring fellow heavyweight Guto Inocente during sparring.
According to Burns, Inocente was recovering from a knee injury and had a broken hand while he was sparring with Overeem but still managed to beat his opponent with one hand. The former Dream and Strikeforce heavyweight champion apparently got frustrated with Inocente and blew his opponent's other knee out on a takedown.
It was rumored Overeem had earned a bad reputation around the Blackzilians team and was a loner for a much of his time there. The 33-year-old recently joined the famous Jackson-Winklejohn camp in New Mexico.
